About the role

Responsibilities

  • Respond to prospective members interested in pet insurance policies
  • Use a consultative approach to understand each member’s unique needs and tailor insurance solutions accordingly
  • Present the value of Trupanion’s pet insurance policies, emphasizing benefits rather than price
  • Maintain control of calls and guide conversations toward enrollment
  • Provide detailed information about policies and coverage options
  • Address members’ questions and objections
  • Accurately enroll pets in insurance policies and document the required information
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for current members
  • Respond to policy inquiries, provide guidance, and ensure member satisfaction
  • Process cancellation requests and understand members’ concerns
  • Explore alternative solutions and strive to retain members
  • Communicate with members by phone and email, adapting communication style to their preferences

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in a sales and/or customer service role
  • Previous experience in a bilingual sales or customer service role
  • An active AMF-approved Level 1 Damage Insurance or Level 1 Personal Lines Damage Insurance licence
  • Licensed to sell insurance in Quebec and in the province where you currently reside
  • Fluency in English and French, with the ability to switch easily between languages
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
  • Ability to adapt to members’ diverse needs and preferences
  • Goal-oriented mindset focused on meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and develop innovative solutions
  • Active listening skills and the ability to explain solutions in different ways
  • Ability to manage relationships with empathy and compassion
  • Self-awareness and the ability to adapt to stressful situations or challenging circumstances
  • Availability Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET for at least the first 12 weeks of training
  • Availability for shifts that may start as early as 8:30 a.m. ET after training
  • Weekend availability
