About the role

  • Licensed bilingual insurance agent selling Trupanion pet medical insurance across Canada. Supporting enrollments, member service, cancellations, and retention by phone and email.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound warm leads from potential members interested in pet insurance policies
  • Use a consultative approach to understand member needs and tailor insurance solutions
  • Present the value of Trupanion pet insurance policies, emphasizing benefits over price
  • Maintain call control and guide conversations toward successful enrollment
  • Explain policies and coverage options and address member questions or objections
  • Accurately enroll pets in policies and document required information
  • Serve as a point of contact for current members and address policy inquiries
  • Provide guidance and ensure current-member satisfaction
  • Handle cancellation inquiries, understand member concerns, explore alternatives, and seek retention
  • Communicate with members by phone and email, adapting communication style to member preferences
  • Navigate challenging scenarios and handle escalations
  • Support current and future members at Trupanion, a provider of medical insurance for cats and dogs

Requirements

  • Active AMF-approved General Damage Insurance Level 1 or Personal Damage Insurance Level 1 license
  • Licensed to sell insurance in Québec and the province in which the candidate currently resides
  • Fluent in both English and French
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a sales and/or customer service role
  • Previous experience in a bilingual sales/customer service role
  • Track record of delivering exceptional service
  • Ability to adapt to diverse member needs and preferences
  • Goal-oriented mindset to achieve and surpass sales targets
  • Weekend availability required
  • Ability to work the training schedule Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, for at least the first 12 weeks
  • Ability to work shifts that may begin as early as 8:30 a.m. ET after training
  • Customer-centric approach, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, patience, active listening, emotional intelligence, and emotional resilience
