About the role
- Senior Java Developer building Merative healthcare software products, modules, and validation documentation. Designing cloud and on-premise platforms and Linux/Kubernetes deployment systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform software development activities for existing and new product development
- Liaise with customer technical staff and cross-departmental technical and clinical staff to understand requirements, design constraints, and existing product problems
- Develop and document module designs
- Code and implement software designs
- Perform developer verification and validation according to Merge Standard Operating Procedures
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members
- Perform product development according to Merge methodology and practices
- Analyze software module requirements and create designs and test designs
- Prepare module specifications, designs, test descriptions, and estimates
- Implement software modules and unit tests and conduct module testing
- Conduct verification and validation activities
- Review product engineering artifacts, including specifications, designs, code, tests, records, and reports
- Design, develop, and recommend next-generation platforms for cloud and on-premise deployments
- Develop deployment systems for interdependent applications running on Linux and Kubernetes
- Update system specifications, designs, test descriptions, hazard analyses, verification and validation procedures, and related documentation
- Peer review product artifacts and participate in design and code reviews with the Team Lead and/or architect
- Work under minimal supervision and submit work for review at critical points
- Pursue self-development through reading, seminars, and continuing education
- Identify root causes using analytical and problem-solving techniques
- Enhance relationships and networks outside the department or subject matter area
Requirements
- Primary programming languages: Java, Bash shell and Coreutils, Perl, Python, Go, Rust
- Linux SuSE operating system experience
- Experience in DICOM and HL7
- An undergraduate or college degree or better in computer science or equivalent discipline, or equivalent level of industry related experience
- 5+ years of related experience in software development
- Knowledge, skills, training and experience in enterprise-level product development
- Ability to work within an Agile development model
- Ability to collaborate effectively with department members, managers, and staff across the organization
- Availability for after-hours on-call support may be required, up to 15%
- Occasional travel
- Business casual dress requirements, if applicable
