About the role

  • Senior Certification Specialist processing VA educational benefits and student enrollments for University of Maryland Global Campus. Ensuring compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review student records and monitor student enrollments
  • Process enrollments in PeopleSoft and the VA’s Enrollment Manager system
  • Remain compliant with Department of Veterans Affairs rules and regulations
  • Liaise with advising operations, Office of Financial Solutions, and other UMGC departments to resolve escalated certification questions and concerns
  • Assist students with Department of Veterans Affairs issues related to VA educational benefits
  • Liaise with overseas points of contact to process enrollment certifications
  • Adhere to SAA and VA regulations and VCO office protocols
  • Provide students, prospective students, and UMGC staff with general information about VA educational benefits
  • Act as first point of contact for student escalations
  • Develop and maintain job aids and internal training materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Two (2) years of experience working at an institution of higher learning, preferably in a college Veterans Affairs Office or Student Advising
  • Experience in PeopleSoft and Enrollment Manager preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Cover letter and resume required
