About the role

  • Senior Paid Social Marketing Manager scaling profitable acquisition for Upstart’s Personal Loans business. Owning social campaigns, creative testing, audience strategy, analytics, and media budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize paid social and video acquisition for Personal Loans
  • Manage campaign strategy, setup, bidding, budgets, pacing, and performance across key platforms
  • Establish channel strategy and manage execution with the media agency
  • Evaluate agency recommendations and maintain accountability to volume, CAC, and profitability goals
  • Make media investment and optimization decisions using performance data
  • Develop and execute creative strategy with Creative and agency teams
  • Build testing frameworks, messaging hypotheses, format strategies, production priorities, and creative performance analysis
  • Build and refine prospecting, retargeting, customer-list, lookalike, and other audience strategies
  • Drive geo-list targeting and geographic experimentation with the analytics team
  • Design and analyze tests across audiences, creative, bidding, placements, geographies, and funnel experiences
  • Partner with Analytics, Product Marketing, Creative, Lifecycle, and Growth Product teams to improve the acquisition funnel from impression through funded loan
  • Manage and forecast significant media budgets while balancing growth, customer volume, and contribution economics

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in performance marketing or digital media buying
  • Significant hands-on experience managing paid social and video campaigns
  • Proven experience owning and scaling paid social acquisition programs against CAC, CPA, ROI, revenue, or profitability goals
  • Expertise in paid social platforms, including campaign structure, bidding, budgeting, audience management, creative testing, and performance optimization
  • Experience partnering with external media agencies
  • Experience developing or executing paid media creative strategy
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret channel and funnel data, design experiments, and make investment decisions in ambiguous environments
  • Experience using geographic targeting, geo experiments, customer lists, or audience segmentation to improve acquisition efficiency and measure incrementality
  • Preferred: experience in regulated or longer consideration-cycle verticals such as financial services, fintech, lending, insurance, or marketplaces
  • Preferred: experience launching and scaling new channels or products from zero to one
  • Preferred: experience working with product and engineering teams to improve landing pages, funnels, and on-site conversion
  • Ability to work within East/West Coast time zones
