About the role
- Associate Director leading Development staff and major-gift fundraising for the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Managing 100–130 prospects to generate $1M–$3M annually.
Responsibilities
- Assess needs and contribute to developing and implementing plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and recognition
- Develop and implement alumni engagement activities supporting strategic objectives
- Develop and implement donor engagement plans supporting strategic objectives
- Cultivate and solicit current and prospective major gift donors through tailored stewardship programs
- Meet face-to-face with current and potential donors to discuss giving interests and opportunities
- Plan, direct, and lead Development staff
- Manage a personal portfolio of 100–130 prospects to generate $1M–$3M in annual philanthropic support
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Six to seven years experience fundraising experience, including at least three years of highly successful experience with senior volunteers
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading a team
- Experience with annual giving, leadership giving, communications and/or alumni relations
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Strong academic skills, including ability to understand the work of Rotman's Centres and Institutes and the need for business education
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to represent the university with senior-level volunteers and donors
- Ability to identify areas of common interest and articulate a compelling case for the Rotman School of Management
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and meticulous approach to work
- Exceptional dedication to pursuing leadership development opportunities
