About the role
- Junior Editor editing aviation and travel stories for TheTravel, an online travel publication reaching 8 million monthly visitors. Applying editorial, SEO, fact-checking, and CMS skills.
Responsibilities
- Edit articles to meet TheTravel's editorial standards for grammar, accuracy, and style
- Collaborate with writers and provide feedback to improve content quality and clarity
- Apply SEO best practices, including keyword usage, metadata optimization, and internal linking
- Fact-check content, including aviation details and data, before publication
- Format and publish articles using the CMS
- Contribute article and feature ideas aligned with aviation trends and audience interests
- Stay updated on aviation news, reviews, events, and industry trends
- Support quality assurance and ensure content aligns with the publication's tone, style, and objectives
- Meet content output targets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred
- Excellent editing and writing skills
- Strong grasp of grammar, punctuation, and style
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and willingness to learn more about content optimization
- Experience using content management systems (CMS) for publishing and formatting content; WordPress or similar platforms preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Keen eye for detail
- Passion for the aviation industry and strong knowledge of aviation and industry trends
- CV, cover letter, and at least 2 sample articles required for application
