About the role
- Software Engineer III leading development of high-performance risk modeling platforms at Verisk, a global insurance analytics and data technology company. Guiding architecture, resource efficiency, mentoring, and engineering improvements.
Responsibilities
- Take a technical lead role in evolving and supporting the high-performance risk modeling platform
- Guide efficient use of computing, memory, and networking resources
- Collaborate with Software Architects and Product Owners to shape technical direction and plan delivery
- Ensure alignment with platform standards
- Mentor and develop engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and technical leadership
- Lead improvements to engineering processes, tooling, and best practices
Requirements
- Strong background in computer science (BSc, MSc, Ph.D.)
- 4-8 years of demonstrable experience
- Experience in three or more of: Python and/or C++, cloud computing (AWS), distributed systems, API design, data engineering
- DevOps experience, security and compliance knowledge, and experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers at scale are assets, not requirements
- Minimum hiring age of 18, except where a higher age limit applies
