About the role

  • IT Operations Engineer managing IT support and infrastructure for climate tech startup veritree in Vancouver. Overseeing device management, user access, and security operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, high-quality end-user support across hardware, software, access, and connectivity
  • Support core IT infrastructure - DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi, SaaS platforms, and productivity tools
  • Own IT asset, license, and vendor management - procurement, renewals, cost optimization
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles
  • Administer Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 - users, groups, licensing, SSO, and security policies
  • Own onboarding/offboarding lifecycle and enforce MFA and access reviews
  • Oversee managed EDR provider and lead incident response using MITRE ATT&CK
  • Run phishing and email security program and maintain security policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline - or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 3+ years of experience in IT operations / systems administration, with exposure to security-related fields
  • Proven experience managing device fleets via MDM - Apple and/or Windows
  • Strong Google Workspace administration experience
  • Experience working across Linux, macOS, and Windows environments
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot
  • Experience building workflow automation using PowerShell, Python, n8n, or similar
  • Networking fundamentals - DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi, and LAN/WAN
  • Solid grounding in cybersecurity operations: identity, access management, EDR, MFA, phishing/email security
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning ambiguity
