About the role

  • Senior Accountant managing payables, reconciliations, journal entries, and close processes at Waabi, a Physical AI company. Supporting consolidation, audits, controls, and process improvements for autonomous transportation technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice review, coding, approvals, payment processing, vendor communications, and billing or payment issue resolution; assist with accounts receivable.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the close calendar and task tracking.
  • Support and maintain monthly consolidation schedules.
  • Prepare analytics and supporting schedules for month-end close review.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and reclassifications.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Assist with audit preparation, including supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, HR, purchasing, and other teams to support reporting and operational needs.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP fundamentals.
  • Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas.
  • Experience integrating AI tools into day-to-day operations.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Ramp is a plus.
  • CPA or CPA-eligible is a bonus.
  • Experience in a technology, SaaS, or startup environment is a bonus.
  • Exposure to audits, SOX, or internal controls is a bonus.
  • Experience with AP tools, expense systems, or close management software is a bonus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
