About the role
- Software Engineer building interactive web tools for Waabi’s AI self-driving platform. Leading architecture discussions and mentoring engineers across simulation, annotation, and dataset tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical and architecture discussions, collaborating with Researchers and Engineers
- Mentor other software engineers through code reviews, technical design reviews, and sharing software development best practices
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Researchers using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale
- Build and maintain interactive web tools, including interactive simulation, custom labelling tools, data annotation tools, dataset curation tools, result comparison tools, and more
- Improve Waabi’s existing suite of services and expand it with new tools
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related engineering disciplines
- 5+ years of industry experience developing production quality software
- Experience with modern web technologies/libraries for building responsive web applications, such as TypeScript and React
- Experience with backend technologies and languages such as Go, Python, Rust, and C++
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Empathy for the people who will use the tools you create and maintain
- Open-minded and collaborative team player with willingness to help others
- Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions
- Bonus/nice to have: experience with container and cloud infrastructure and managing infrastructure-as-code
- Bonus/nice to have: experience with 3D visualization (WebGL) and real-time interactive systems
- Bonus/nice to have: experience with web visualization libraries such as D3.js or three.js
- Bonus/nice to have: previous experience or passion in UX/design
- Bonus/nice to have: experience with build systems, version control, continuous integration, containers, packaging, profiling, debugging, code review, linting, test automation, and test coverage tools
