About the role

  • Senior Content Marketing Manager driving SEO, GEO, social, and content operations for Wagepoint’s payroll software. Growing reach and qualified demand among Canadian small businesses and accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day social editorial calendar across Wagepoint’s priority channels
  • Create platform-native copy, schedule and publish approximately five social posts per week
  • Balance educational, brand, product, customer and timely content
  • Repurpose blogs, guides, webinars, videos, research and customer insights into channel-specific social stories
  • Partner with design and internal subject-matter experts on briefs, visual direction and approvals
  • Track social performance, test formats and messages, and recommend what to repeat, stop or change
  • Translate technical SEO, search demand, AI-search behaviour and audience insights into a prioritized content backlog
  • Create content briefs based on questions and intent from SMB and accounting/bookkeeping audiences
  • Optimize on-page elements, structure, metadata and internal links
  • Collaborate with technical SEO/GEO and web partners on recommendations, dependencies and measurement
  • Monitor rankings, qualified organic traffic, engagement and conversion signals
  • Write and edit social copy, conversion copy, product and campaign content, resource updates and web copy
  • Gather customer questions, objections, successes and friction from Sales, Customer Success and other customer-facing teams
  • Edit work from internal contributors, specialists and partner advocates for structure, accuracy, voice and usefulness
  • Use AI for research, ideation, repurposing and quality checks while maintaining human judgment and accountability
  • Manage editorial calendars, briefs, reviews and handoffs
  • Define priority audience, distribution plan and desired next action for larger content initiatives
  • Build systems for repurposing, evergreen refreshes, content governance and asset reuse
  • Maintain monthly content performance reporting tied to audience growth, engagement, qualified traffic and conversion
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and improve priorities, roles and processes
  • Report directly to the Director, Content & Brand

Requirements

  • About seven or more years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing or social content, or equivalent evidence of operating at this level
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong writing and editing across formats, including personally created and improved or directed work
  • Hands-on ownership of brand social channels, including editorial planning, publishing, measurement and iteration
  • Practical SEO/GEO experience, including search intent, content briefs, on-page optimization, internal linking, content refreshes and performance analysis
  • Ability to make complex subjects understandable without losing accuracy, especially where facts, regulations or customer trust matter
  • Comfort using analytics and channel tools to make decisions
  • Experience with tools such as HubSpot and Agorapulse; exact tool matches not required
  • Strong project judgment in a lean, remote environment
  • Bonus: experience in Canadian payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, fintech, HR technology, B2B SaaS or another complex or regulated category
  • Bonus: experience marketing to small business owners and/or professional advisors
  • Bonus: experience with data-led content, webinars, video or integrated campaign distribution
  • Bonus: familiarity with emerging search behaviour, AI-assisted discovery and content designed to earn citations or recommendations beyond traditional search results
