About the role

  • CNC Programmer developing Mastercam programs for Mazak equipment at Westinghouse’s clean-energy manufacturing facility. Supporting machining setup, validation, troubleshooting, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize and maintain CNC machining programs for Mazak machine tools using Mastercam
  • Support milling, turning and multi-axis machining
  • Improve cycle times, setup efficiency and product quality
  • Provide hands-on support during machine setup, program prove-out and first-piece validation
  • Resolve programming, tooling and machining issues
  • Create and modify Mastercam programs, toolpaths, setup sheets, tooling plans and fixturing requirements
  • Simulate and verify programs before production release
  • Troubleshoot shop-floor programming and machining issues
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and 3D models to select machining methods, cutting tools, fixtures and work-holding solutions
  • Improve machining practices to reduce setup time, scrap and cycle time while meeting safety, GD&T, quality and customer requirements
  • Report to the Manufacturing Manager

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Machining, Tool and Die, or an equivalent field
  • Advanced proficiency using Mastercam for milling, turning and multi-axis machining
  • Experience programming Mazak equipment using Mazatrol and G-code
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T requirements and 3D models
