About the role
- Back-end Software Engineer building Ruby on Rails products and features for Kin Insurance. Delivering software with Ruby, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Agile development, and collaborative engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop products and features that make Kin operate
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Ruby on Rails
- Deliver stories, tasks, or entire features
- Pair program with team members
- Participate in daily standups and weekly retrospectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members
- Provide subject matter expertise and support
- Work closely with engineering peers in a collaborative environment
Requirements
- Track record of shipping small to medium size software projects
- Proficiency coding in Ruby, Javascript, or Typescript
- Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment
- Fast learner who can bring previous knowledge and continue developing
- Location in Central or Eastern time zones (CST & EST) strongly preferred
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States
- Kin is unable to sponsor employment visas
- Must be able to live and work full-time in one of the listed eligible U.S. states; technical positions in Canada are limited to residents of Ontario
