Health and Benefits Intern analyzing employee benefit plans for WTW’s data-driven consulting business.
Supporting actuarial calculations, vendor evaluations, renewals, and client cost-saving strategies.
Responsibilities
Support clients with benefit plan analysis, design, cost savings, and benchmarking
Perform detailed calculations throughout the benefit renewal process, including premiums and reserves
Assist with pricing and employee contribution strategies and insurer negotiations
Analyze and compare vendor products, services, and contracts
Evaluate responses to surveys and RFPs
Work alongside consultants on real client assignments
Analyze complex data, present results, and contribute to programs that help employers manage costs, improve health outcomes, and elevate the employee experience
Requirements
Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or another major with significant quantitative coursework
Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed client standards
Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a close team environment
Must be present at the WTW office in Montreal, QC, 1–2 days per week
Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams highly preferred for actuarial students
Work experience demonstrating strong technical and/or client service skills; analyst-type internship preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Bilingual in English and French
Ability to provide services in French and English, including communications exclusively in French and interactions with French-speaking stakeholders in Canada
