About the role
- Data Management Technician maintaining quality databases for Seaspan’s shipbuilding operations. Supporting data migration, Power BI reporting, dashboards, and Quality Management documentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Quality Department databases, including Quality Assurance, Quality and Accuracy Control, Ship Acceptance, and Weld Engineering databases
- Support database development and data migration as required
- Organize and administer Quality databases
- Support internal process improvement initiatives
- Prepare, maintain, and update data, documents, files, and project information for recording and distribution
- Support the Quality Data Analyst in producing metric reporting and managing existing dashboards
- Prepare weekly and monthly Quality Management Reports under Department Manager supervision
- Document data management processes
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- College diploma supplemented with solid IT knowledge
- 1 to 3 years of experience in data management roles
- Experience supporting the development of new IT databases and migrating data from previous systems
- Experience managing comprehensive data records
- Experience working in Quality Control or Quality Assurance is preferred
- Experience with project management is an asset
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Experience with Power BI
- Good knowledge of quality management practices is highly desirable
- Ability to plan and organize work independently
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and close attention to detail
- Ability to spot check and review data sets for integrity and accuracy
