About the role
- Seeking a Finance Controls & Governance Manager for a 5-month contract in Toronto. Assess sustainability reporting controls, identify gaps, and strengthen governance.
Responsibilities
- Assess the effectiveness of controls supporting sustainability reporting; identify control gaps and recommend remediation; support development of sustainability reporting control frameworks; partner with stakeholders to strengthen governance; provide risk and control guidance; support compliance with sustainability disclosure requirements; report findings to senior management; assist with executive-level reporting.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of risk and controls, including full risk management lifecycle and remediation; experience with cross-functional stakeholders; understanding of governance, operational risk, and internal controls; excellent communication, relationship management, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; university degree. Nice to have: CPA or CIA, ESG certification, experience with ESG frameworks, large financial institution experience, familiarity with Archer or Workiva.
