Responsibilities
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and participating in the delivery of accurate and timely full-cycle bi-weekly payroll. This includes coordinating payroll operations, ensuring compliance with legislation and collective agreements, performing quality assurance audits, preparing financial reconciliations, supporting payroll systems (UKG, Empath), leading process improvements, and acting as backup to the Payroll Manager.
Requirements
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required; Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) preferred. 5+ years of progressive payroll experience including full-cycle payroll in a complex, multi-site environment. Experience with multiple Canadian jurisdictions, healthcare/unionized environment preferred. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, UKG and Empath systems, and advanced Excel skills.
