About the role
- Manage full-cycle project accounting for the Ontario Line project, including payables, receivables, tax filings, and month-end close. Prepare monthly financial reports and monitor costs, revenues, and cash flow.
Responsibilities
- The Project Accountant is responsible for all aspects of financial management and reporting. This role manages full-cycle project accounting, including payables, receivables, tax filings, accruals, and month-end and year-end close. The Project Accountant prepares monthly financial reports, monitors costs, revenues, and cash flow, and ensures compliance with budgets, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred. 5+ years proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the construction industry. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
