About the role
- Senior Backend Developer needed for full-time role in Brampton, ON. Requires 6-12 years Java/Spring Boot experience, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, and AI-assisted tools.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services using Spring Boot and Java 8-21. Create maintainable REST/SOAP APIs, follow clean code and SOLID principles, build data persistence with Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, containerize with Docker, deploy to Kubernetes, automate builds with Azure DevOps, secure APIs with OAuth/JWT/TLS, optimize performance with Redis and async processing, and use Azure services like Blob Storage and Managed Identity. Collaborate with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams in Agile Scrum.
Requirements
- 6-12 years of Java backend development experience. Proficiency in Java Spring Boot. Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Co-pilot or cursor). Strong understanding of scalable microservices architecture. Experience with REST and SOAP APIs, clean code practices, SOLID principles, domain-driven design, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, OAuth, JWT, TLS, Redis, async processing, and Azure services. Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication. Ambitious with ability to take initiative. Passionate about quality and writing clean, reusable, readable code.
