About the role

  • Authorization Developer at 1Password, building access-control systems for its secure password-management and unified-access platform. Shipping Go features, APIs, and services while improving authorization reliability and developer workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship new features, product improvements, and bug fixes within the team's codebase
  • Own delivery of small-to-medium scoped projects with minimal oversight through completion
  • Participate in planning, implementation, testing, release, and post-launch support
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to testing strategies and practices
  • Document work clearly and share context for review and support
  • Provide thoughtful code reviews that improve quality and reinforce best practices
  • Collaborate with customer support and other partners to investigate issues and prioritize customer feedback
  • Contribute to authorization APIs, Unified Authorization, and supporting services
  • Partner with Identity Services, Authentication, and Trust Platforms
  • Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully across the software development lifecycle

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Go
  • Solid working knowledge of tools and technologies needed to complete tasks independently
  • Experience building or working with authorization or identity systems
  • Solid understanding of access control and permissions
  • Comfort navigating an existing codebase and reusing established patterns
  • Ability to propose improvements when needed
  • Care for testing, maintainability, and clarity in code and documentation
  • Strong communication, including sharing progress and raising blockers early
  • Ability to collaborate constructively, seek feedback, and incorporate it well
  • Bonus: experience supporting production systems and participating in on-call or incident response rotations
  • Bonus: familiarity with developer workflow improvements, including tooling, CI/CD, testing, and documentation
