About the role
- Web extension developer building 1Password’s secure filling, saving, and unified sign-in experiences. Developing TypeScript and React software for a remote US/Canada team.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, deliver, and maintain production software systems for new and existing product features
- Advance the filling and saving experience of 1Password’s password manager and unified sign-in capabilities
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, cross-functional teams, stakeholders, teammates, and the open-source community
- Communicate technical requirements and solve technical problems in scalable, realistic ways
- Mentor junior and new team members through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and pair programming
- Participate in planning by identifying, breaking down, estimating, and planning major tasks
- Write comprehensive tests throughout the development cycle
- Review code to maintain quality, share knowledge, and support constructive feedback
- Generate and review documentation on code processes
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and development best practices
- Participate in rotational on-call work to provide uninterrupted support and resolve emergencies
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in software development
- Proficiency in TypeScript and React
- Experience with software development best practices and coding standards
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and propose effective solutions
- Experience collaborating with teams and communicating technical concepts to non-technical cross-functional partners
- Passion for testing methodologies and debugging techniques
- Must live in and be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada
- No work authorization, relocation assistance, or visa sponsorship/transferring offered
- Willingness to participate in rotational on-call work
- Successful applicants must complete a background check
- Bonus: experience building browser extensions for Chromium, Firefox, and/or Safari
