Therapeutic Specialist selling AbbVie gynecology and gastroenterology medicines across Alberta and Manitoba. Building healthcare-provider relationships and delivering territory sales performance.
Responsibilities
Develop robust business/account plans to execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
Build strong customer relationships while supporting stakeholder needs
Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations
Work in a cross-functional matrix team across medical, market access, government affairs, health education, marketing, trade relations, patient engagement, and AbbVie Care
Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance
Handle objections and concerns using a logical and rational approach to close sales calls, in person or virtually
Execute call plans to achieve set metrics and optimize coverage of key customers
Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise
Share market intelligence with the district manager and team members to align strategy and anticipate environmental change
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates
Call on gynecologists treating endometriosis and uterine fibroids
Call on gastroenterologists treating CIC, FC, and IBS-C
Responsible for Alberta and Manitoba
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Commerce or equivalent
Minimum of three to five years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry
Gynecology experience is preferred
Gastroenterology experience is an asset
Established relationships with existing HCP targets are an asset
Physician/account-based selling, CHE / OLA / training, managed health care or marketing experience are preferred
Proven track record in sales and solid presentation skills both F2F and virtually
Experience with IntelAgree, DEVO, CTE/Concur, or Veeva is an asset
Strong ability to proactively identify customer style / behavior and quickly adapt selling approach
In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
Innovative problem-solving and ability to anticipate and respond to changes or challenges
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Veeva Engage/CLM
Position requires occasional evening/weekend work, including overnight travel
Expected travel within territory is 50%
Valid driver's license and passport
