Responsibilities
Lead and grow a team of 5 to 10 hardware engineers by providing regular feedback, coaching and support for their career development.
Recruit, hire and retain top talent while fostering an inclusive and innovative culture.
Encourage the team to share ideas, propose solutions and take full ownership of their work.
Cultivate an environment where everyone feels safe, supported and fully engaged.
Develop and maintain strong collaboration with leaders and managers of other programs to ensure smooth execution of multidisciplinary projects.
Support project managers and product owners in defining requirements, estimating effort and planning new product features under development.
Prioritize engineering activities based on business needs and organizational objectives.
Work with project managers to track progress, risks, schedules and deliverables, while ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Promote engineering processes, quality standards and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.
Drive the hardware function of the controllers and displays program, ensuring technical excellence and scalability.
Oversee the creation of specifications, requirements, architecture decisions and design documentation.
Coordinate internal and external development resources (board manufacturers, JDM partners, mechanical design, procurement, manufacturing/industrialization).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, computer engineering or equivalent experience.
Proven leadership experience in hardware engineering, including more than 5 years in management.
Over 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining complex electronic devices.
Strong background in embedded systems, product architectures based on MCUs/MPUs, displays and switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).
Excellent understanding of EMC standards, safety standards and certification requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with high attention to detail.
Knowledge of HVAC or building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus) is an asset.
Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools (work management, Git, CI/CD pipelines, test plans).
