About the role

  • Project Coordinator supporting CanAtom’s Pickering nuclear station refurbishment for Aecon. Coordinating engineering, construction schedules, budgets, safety, risks, deliverables, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a collaborative “ONE TEAM” project-first approach for internal, external, cross-JV, and client-facing interactions
  • Support the Project Manager in creating and sharing the project success vision
  • Plan and implement engineering and construction programs, including project plans, activities, milestones, and manpower requirements
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets for engineering and construction segments
  • Provide project milestone status reports and adjust schedules
  • Control expenditures within the project budget
  • Identify manpower requirements and coordinate manpower with trades and subcontractors
  • Maintain meeting minutes
  • Identify risks, escalate them to the Risk Manager, and track actions
  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as-built drawings, and turnover documents
  • Review project designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and specifications
  • Coordinate technical developments, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and test problems
  • Interface with customers, provide project status reports, and ensure customer needs are met
  • Provide status and progress reports to customers, the project team, and management
  • Assist with and monitor safety programs and statistics
  • Write and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents
  • Participate in quality assurance and implement policies and procedures
  • Track and expedite internal and external contract deliverables
  • Provide informal and formal performance feedback to SGR team members

Requirements

  • Technical (Engineering or Engineering Technology) education
  • 5+ years of engineering and/or construction project experience
  • Proficient written communication and report-writing skills
  • Knowledge of SharePoint applications is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with a large team
  • Nuclear outage planning experience preferred
  • Strong nuclear safety culture awareness
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Ability to perform risk analysis and project forecasting
  • Ability to liaise with EPC and subcontractors
  • Ability to write and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents
  • Ability to understand and implement quality assurance policies and procedures
