About the role
- Senior accounting leader overseeing AP, AR, procurement, and financial controls at Alimentiv, a global CRO advancing gastrointestinal disease therapies. Building scalable processes and developing accounting teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead core accounting operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, General Ledger activities, and reconciliations
- Monitor key financial metrics, identify emerging risks and trends, and provide timely insights to the Controller and senior leadership
- Lead and develop the accounting operations team through coaching, mentorship, and clear direction
- Strengthen AP, AR, and procurement processes as the organization grows
- Drive process improvement and automation to streamline accounting workflows, enhance systems, improve data integrity, and increase operational efficiency
- Partner with the Controller, Senior Manager of Treasury & Tax, Senior Director of FP&A, Procurement, and business leaders
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to the Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team, Product Line Owners, and other stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, sponsors, and vendors
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related function, including prior leadership experience in a more mature or established organization
- Demonstrated leadership of expense operations and procurement
- Strong practical understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, procurement processes, and financial controls
- Proven people leadership experience building accountable, high-performing teams
- Experience establishing clear ownership, priorities, and ways of working
- Strong relationship-building with internal business stakeholders, sponsors, and external vendors
- Experience fostering collaborative partnerships, influencing across functions, and delivering a high level of service
- Experience building and scaling processes in a growing organization
- Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated success identifying efficiencies, streamlining workflows, leveraging technology or automation, and improving financial operations
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Ability to translate financial information into practical insights and partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline required
- CPA designation and/or equivalent combination of education and experience considered an asset
- Fluent English communication skills required
