About the role

  • Operational reporting analyst transforming insurance data for Allstate Canada. Building auditable reporting, analytics and Power BI solutions across policy, claims and billing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, investigate, manipulate and analyze data to support Allstate Canada Group’s business plans and results
  • Interpret source-system user-interface data and understand its translation into backend databases
  • Build relationships with Claims, Policy and Finance teams to support operational reporting and analytics
  • Help design requirements for new or enhanced operational reporting data, analytics and reporting solutions
  • Monitor and ensure data quality using validation, reconciliation and audit-support methods
  • Test newly integrated data sources and environments
  • Develop and improve SAS/SQL programs for complex analyses
  • Assess the impact of source-system changes and projects on reporting data layers and downstream reporting
  • Collaborate with DBAs, IT teams and Architecture
  • Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery and redesign/restructure databases
  • Develop expertise across the data and analytics ecosystem
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data and analytics for more effective business decisions
  • Develop Power BI solutions to communicate insights to key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience applying analytical techniques to solve business problems and support data-driven decision making
  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate insights in technical and non-technical terms
  • Skilled in data visualization tools, including Power BI
  • Proactive, curious mindset with ability to learn new data models and evolving environments
  • Hands-on experience with data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, ETL processes, data modeling and data governance
  • Proficiency in SQL/SAS programming for data development, cleansing, validation, integrity checks, reconciliation and process optimization
  • Skilled in MS Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and VBA
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-oriented approach to quality, controls and documentation
  • Bonus: Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric and Python, including data ingestion, transformation and modeling
  • Strong English skills required for roles open to candidates across Canada, unless otherwise indicated
