About the role

  • HSE Operations Intern supporting health, safety, and environmental programs for ANDRITZ Hydro Canada. Preparing compliance documentation, training materials, risk assessments, and HSE updates.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of weekly and monthly HSE Meetings or Bulletins
  • Assist in the implementation and update of the health, safety, and environmental plan and associated procedures
  • Assist in preparing project HSE documentation, including safe work procedures, Activity Risk Assessments, and job plans
  • Support gathering HSE training modules and certifications
  • Coordinate health, safety, and environmental aspects of office or facility activities
  • Propose immediate corrections for HSE deficiencies and verify correction effectiveness
  • Collaborate with the HSE Operations Manager or HSE Coordinator on HSE Management System updates

Requirements

  • Student enrolled in bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Passion for Quality and integrity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Construction Safety Regulations
  • Strong communication skills (spoken & written) at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent problem solving skills (root cause analysis expertise), sound judgment, initiative & creativity
  • Willingness to work in a complex, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
  • Result and solution-oriented approach
  • Legal status to work in Canada is required
