About the role

  • Reliability Engineering Manager leading SAP PM and asset-reliability strategy. Improving equipment performance across Apotex’s global pharmaceutical manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and drive reliability engineering principles and best practices
  • Lead the SAP PM function and provide daily business support
  • Lead SAP PM optimization initiatives and major changes
  • Support corporate- and site-driven reliability initiatives
  • Manage and oversee reliability engineers and provide training and support
  • Establish reliability trending, reporting, and KPIs for customers
  • Establish equipment performance expectations and measure overall equipment performance
  • Partner with Production to identify reliability improvements, develop action plans, and implement them
  • Provide technical support to Engineering for equipment selection based on reliability improvements and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure maintenance activities are properly executed and approved
  • Lead performance conversations and monthly one-on-ones with employees
  • Develop employee capabilities, foster growth, and reinforce a high-performance and safe-work culture
  • Attract, hire, and onboard talent
  • Ensure direct reports adhere to compliance programs and company policies
  • Lead corporate-level reliability strategy development and execution across GSTO sites
  • Work with international engineering leads to strengthen and harmonize reliability programs
  • Oversee ongoing maintenance and optimization of the SAP PM function
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in mechanical or electro-mechanical discipline, or millwright or machinist with equivalent related work experience
  • Training in Reliability Engineering Principles and Practices preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a staff position, including influencing others, managing diversity, setting goals and objectives, and measuring performance
  • Experience with CMMS systems; SAP preferred
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of reliability principles and methodologies
  • Ability to work within a team environment in a facilitator role
  • Strong organizational and communications skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Working experience with Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and detail-oriented skills
  • 5–8 years of related experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry
  • Experience with reliability best practices and maintenance workflow and processes
  • Experience leading/training reliability engineers
