About the role
- Manager leading global SRE teams for Akamai's distributed Cloud IAM services. Improving reliability, scalability, security, and usability through cloud-native tooling and software.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a global team of SREs managing and supporting Linode IAM services
- Manage and mentor SRE engineers
- Unblock team members on technical and process hurdles
- Partner with stakeholders to understand and shape the product roadmap
- Drive technical and product innovation through design thinking, system analysis, and solution development
- Organize and operate in an Agile environment to drive SRE activities
- Build collaborative and effective working relationships through commitments, accountability, and trust
- Contribute to internal research processes, methodologies, and best practices
- Diagnose system performance and reliability with Site Reliability Engineers
- Develop and manage tooling and software that improves the reliability, scalability, security, and usability of Cloud IAM applications
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
- Experience in SRE or Development roles working with large-scale distributed systems
- Experience leading and mentoring a team
- Experience building with cloud-native technologies and cloud deployments at scale
- Experience with container runtimes such as Docker
- Experience with Go, Python, or Bash scripting
- Familiarity with software development practices and product life cycles through build, test, deploy, and iterative environments
