About the role

  • Senior Environmental Specialist supporting Arcadis’ sustainable remediation and infrastructure projects in Manitoba. Leading environmental investigations, remediation programs, technical reporting, regulatory interactions, and specialist proposal work.

Responsibilities

  • Support power and energy, freight rail, and industrial projects from a technical standpoint
  • Assist in developing environmental assessment and remediation programs
  • Provide technical oversight to project execution teams
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Client Account Leaders, Market Sector Leaders, Service Line Leaders, and Area Leaders
  • Manage client and regulatory correspondence and interactions
  • Lead teams in evaluating data and developing conceptual site models for environmental investigations
  • Delineate the nature and extent of contamination
  • Evaluate and implement remedial alternatives
  • Modify or optimize remediation and monitoring programs
  • Review and write complex technical reports
  • Train, coach, and mentor staff on consulting best practices
  • Motivate team members to achieve business growth goals
  • Monitor industry developments and technical and legislative changes
  • Develop a professional profile through conference presentations, publications, and technical committees
  • Lead preparation of specialist elements of bids and winning proposals
  • Complete required Health & Safety stewardship goals and mentor others in H&S practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field
  • Advanced degree (MSc, MEng) in relevant areas preferred
  • 10 or more years' relevant science experience, including leadership of the development and implementation of specialist solutions
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., PGeo, PEng) status or equivalent
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant national standards and codes of practice, including applicable provincial and federal regulations
  • Excellent technical writing skills; able to produce complex reports
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior and intermediate colleagues
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to be based out of Manitoba
