About the role

Materials Developer I focusing on technical developments in high-performance materials. Joining Arc'teryx's team to enhance supply chain goals and product success.

Responsibilities

Delivering high performance materials and technologies for our performance categories
Validating technical knit and woven materials according to Design and RM Sourcing team’s seasonal briefs
Supporting textile developers with in-house material testing, tech packs, material status tracking
Building and maintaining tools and presentation documents to enhance team efficiency
Communicating RM suppliers on textile construction and finishing, as well as vendor capabilities
Initiating and driving material development handoffs to suppliers and quality partners
Ensuring new developments follow preferred material guidelines to meet sustainability targets

2 years of industry experience related to materials and trims
Degree or diploma in Materials Science, Textile Technology, Product or Textile Design, or equivalent industry experience
Working knowledge of the design and development process from inception through to final adoption
Extensive knowledge of trim materials and construction
Thorough understanding of trims and textile manufacturing, including dying, finishing, printing, molding, etc.
Previous materials laboratory testing experience
Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks within tight deadlines
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PLM systems
Physical ability to handle small boxes and rolls of fabric, etc.
