About the role
- LOTO Manager implementing isolation procedures, audits, permits, and training for AtkinsRéalis’ Toronto transit infrastructure project. Ensuring safe construction and commissioning operations.
Responsibilities
- Implement the project's LOTO procedures
- Review and approve complex LOTO plans when required
- Conduct audits to verify compliance with LOTO processes
- Deliver LOTO training to project personnel
- Coordinate permits and high-risk work activities among multiple groups
- Participate in construction and commissioning permit meetings
- Verify risk mitigation measures and safe work execution
- Provide technical expertise on hazardous energy control and equipment isolation
- Develop and maintain LOTO procedures
- Conduct compliance reviews
- Support a transformative transit infrastructure project as part of a high-performing project team
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering OR Red Seal Electrical Journeyman certification (or equivalent related qualification)
- Experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) management during construction and commissioning phases of projects
- Experience in rail, energy, or industrial projects was preferred
- Detailed knowledge of electrical isolation/de-energization requirements and related safety best practices
- Strong understanding of permit-to-work and permitting processes
- Broad technical and working knowledge of construction and commissioning operations
- Ability to lead and influence contractors and subcontractors involved in high-risk work
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
