About the role

  • Mechanical Engineer contributing to CANDU nuclear technology, supporting critical systems analysis. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on innovative nuclear projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and analysis of critical reactor components, systems, and structures
  • Conduct engineering calculations to support nuclear pressure boundary components design
  • Prepare formal technical reports
  • Review design documents, calculations, and analysis reports
  • Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule
  • Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers
  • Provide prompt engineering resolutions on critical engineering matters
  • Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/CANDU Energy Quality Assurance programs, applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements
  • Coordinate and interface with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other design disciplines or departments

Requirements

  • a bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Registered as an Engineer-In-Training or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment
  • Experience in classical stress calculation
  • Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/APDL
  • Experience with programming languages (Python or MATLAB)
  • Familiarity with ASME Section III pressure boundary design and CSA N285.0 is considered an asset
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work under the supervision a senior analyst/engineer/lead and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Drive for continuous learning by own initiative
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
