- Substation Electrical Engineering Manager overseeing complex substation projects in Canada. Leading engineering teams and driving technical excellence from conception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management of a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers
- Provide technical leadership and supervision on electrical substation design and engineering
- Plan, organize, schedule and direct engineering activities for substation projects
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and lead technical coordination
- Work closely with other multi-disciplinary teams for High Voltage (HV) substation projects
- Monitor project progress to ensure engineering deliverables are prepared,
- Understand market trends and clients' needs, identify new business opportunities
Requirements
- A four-year undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University is required
- Graduate (Masters) degree in Electrical Engineering is an asset
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or Alberta is required
- Minimum 12 years of North American experience in Medium and High Voltage Substation design and engineering for greenfield and brownfield projects
- Excellent working knowledge of substation design and engineering standards (including CSA, IEEE, IEC, and standards from major North American utilities)
- Engineering processes for project execution, Project Management principles, tendering and contract management
