Responsibilities
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in rotating electrical machines (generators, motors, excitation systems) and power generation equipment.
Provide senior technical oversight, guidance, and peer review for hydro, thermal, and combustion turbine generating stations
Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for complex failures and performance issues in generators and associated systems.
Establish, review, and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for power generation electrical systems.
Provide independent design reviews and technical assurance for major projects and critical equipment.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, supporting studies, condition assessments, refurbishment strategies, and new generation projects.
Mentor power team members, providing guidance on complex technical matters.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset)
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a Canadian Engineering Association; eligible in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
20+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering within power generation and utility environments
Demonstrated experience in a senior advisory, lead engineer, or SME role
