About the role

  • Senior Software Developer building scalable ETL pipelines and APIs for Autodesk’s design and manufacturing software. Improving data reliability, performance, security, and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions for complex ETL data pipelines and scalable APIs
  • Develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into a centralized data repository
  • Improve data pipelines for efficiency, reliability, and scalability
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues and ensure data integrity
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Follow best practices for security, scaling, cost effectiveness, and testing
  • Create unit and integration tests
  • Contribute to API usage documentation
  • Resolve technical issues and application bugs
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and improve code and databases
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, cross-functional teams, and partners to understand data requirements and deliver relevant insights
  • Improve data processing and query performance for retrieval and analytics
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Stay current with data engineering technologies and best practices
  • Recommend technologies to improve data engineering
  • Implement access controls and encryption to ensure data security and comply with privacy regulations
  • Report to the Engineering Manager of the Reporting Team

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software development experience at multiple capacities
  • 2+ years of experience in big data technologies
  • Experience with data streaming using Kinesis/Kafka
  • Proficiency in Python, Java/Scala
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Experience with relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Background in cloud technologies including AWS, S3/EBS, Lambda, EKS, and CloudWatch
  • Familiarity with observability platforms including Splunk and Datadog
  • Sound knowledge of design patterns and methodologies across multiple platforms
  • Knowledge and support of modern development practices such as Agile and Open-Source technologies
  • Excellent debugging skills
  • Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent is preferred
  • AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification is optional
  • Ability to comply with data privacy regulations and implement data security practices
