About the role

Senior Software Developer building scalable, distributed network management software for Auvik, a cloud-based IT infrastructure platform. Designing microservices, Kubernetes deployments, Kafka systems, and reliable collector code.

Responsibilities

Develop a network management service monitoring millions of devices
Design consistent, scalable, high-quality, fault-tolerant microservice architectures
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes
Design and implement communication protocols for highly scalable distributed systems
Develop reliable and performant collector code deployed at tens of thousands of customer sites
Expand the solution using knowledge of networking devices and protocols
Collaborate with engineering and product management to deliver customer-focused software components
Apply AI-enabled techniques, intelligent tooling, automation, and data-informed debugging to improve scalability, reliability, and delivery speed
Mentor and guide junior and intermediate team members
Research new technologies and recommend improvements

Several years of experience developing quality code and architectures, preferably using Golang
Background in designing and developing microservices
Knowledge of cloud computing, preferably AWS
Experience building reliable, highly available, and scalable software on Kafka
Deep technical, hands-on engineering experience using AI pragmatically, writing production code, debugging distributed systems, and applying system design rigor
Proficiency in agile methodologies such as Scrum
Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment
Passion for mentoring junior and intermediate team members
Experience researching new technologies and making recommendations
Accountability for following processes and suggesting improvements
Desire to collaboratively create elegant, scalable, modern code
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with React, GraphQL, Scala, Go, C++, Kubernetes, and Kafka
