About the role

  • Intermediate Electrical Engineer sizing and selecting electrical equipment for AWC Water Solutions’ water and wastewater treatment systems. Leading projects and supporting design, fabrication, testing, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis to size electrical equipment that meets Client specifications, codes, and standards
  • Act as electrical lead on projects
  • Review engineering documents and verify compliance of selected electrical equipment with client specifications, industry standards, and codes
  • Work with electrical and I&C design and fabrication teams to verify equipment selection and sizing
  • Assist in creating prototypes and conduct testing to validate designs and make necessary adjustments
  • Review fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, general arrangement drawings, and equipment layouts
  • Support development of change orders
  • Assist project managers with client needs by participating in client meetings or calls
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-effective design options without compromising quality and performance
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technologies through training and self-improvement
  • Help improve AWC’s Quality Management System practices, procedures, templates, and checklists
  • Participate in design reviews, feedback sessions, and process improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and train junior team members

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Holds active P.Eng. registration in the province of BC or Alberta
  • 5-10 years of work experience designing, sizing, and selecting process electrical equipment
  • Strong communication and written skills
  • Knowledge of process electrical equipment an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Exposure to Autodesk products is an asset
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles utilized in the design of electrical and controls systems is an asset
