About the role

  • Senior Staff Accountant, Tax preparing individual and corporate returns for Baker Tilly, an advisory and accounting firm. Developing tax plans and delivering attentive client service in Dartmouth.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Tax Partners and senior tax staff to develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients
  • Perform technical research and document tax plan recommendations
  • Prepare individual and corporate tax returns
  • Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints
  • Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships
  • Identify client service opportunities

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE), at a minimum, writing the CFE Fall 2026
  • 1–2 years of experience in a professional services firm
  • Tax experience considered an asset
  • Experience leading junior staff on client deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions
  • Strong proficiency in client-focused service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting timelines
  • Passion for tax work
