About the role

  • Senior Tax Analyst managing Canadian, US, and European tax compliance for Benevity’s social-impact SaaS platform. Owning tax reporting, transfer pricing, research, and cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Canadian corporate tax filings and serve as the primary compliance authority across Canada, the US, and Europe
  • Coordinate US and European corporate tax filings
  • Own the transfer pricing lifecycle, including methodology execution, monthly reporting, and calculations
  • Advise charitable foundation groups on tax compliance and technical matters
  • Manage global indirect tax compliance
  • Execute and finalize US sales tax filings using Avalara
  • Assist with, review, and finalize Canadian sales tax filings with the Procure-to-Pay team
  • Oversee international VAT filings with external service providers
  • Architect the consolidated tax provision process under ASC 740 US GAAP
  • Advise Treasury, Accounting, and Financial Reporting teams on tax disclosures and deferred tax strategies
  • Own corporate reporting outputs and provide actionable insights to Tax Leadership
  • Research complex tax issues supporting compliance, reporting, and planning
  • Design and deliver tax training programs
  • Interpret new legislation in Canada and international jurisdictions to optimize Benevity’s tax position
  • Act as subject matter expert for internal finance and operations teams
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Product teams on business initiatives
  • Drive special projects and high-impact tax initiatives supporting global growth

Requirements

  • End-to-end ownership of complex tax challenges
  • Ability to influence strategically and lead cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex tax concepts to technical teams and executives
  • Ability to direct multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously
  • Expert proficiency in Netsuite, CCH iFirm, and Avalara
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • CPA or equivalent professional designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive corporate tax preparation and provisioning experience in a Canadian or multinational setting
  • Experience in public accounting or with a multinational enterprise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
  • Familiarity with sales taxes (an asset)
