About the role

  • Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for leading electrical design projects from concept to completion at BESTECH. Ensuring technical and design quality while mentoring junior engineers in electrical engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Leading electrical design projects from concept to complete preparation of construction documents and specifications.
  • Establishing project strategy, reviewing drawings, and ensuring elements of design and detailing adhere to jurisdictional requirements.
  • Delivering excellent technical, financial, and social solutions for clients.
  • Leading the preparation and review of complex technical calculations.
  • Overseeing, reviewing, approving, performing and finalizing detailed designs and technical drawings.
  • Ensuring that build quality is as per design.
  • Leading and providing oversight for QAQC (quality assurance quality control) checks as required.
  • Completing and reviewing project documentation and technical report development.
  • Assigning, outlining and prioritizing work for engineers or technologists according to project demands.
  • Participating in training and certification programs, as required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related electrical engineering design experience is required.
  • A degree in electrical engineering or equitant is required.
  • Registered with PEO, and holds a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng), or equivalent in Canada.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Microstation, or similar tools, for electrical system layout and drafting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, practices, and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local building codes.
  • Strong industrial experience, with experience in surface and underground mining.
  • Knowledge of mining-related processes a definite asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design practices.
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle is required.
