About the role
- Principal Engineer overseeing tailings and brine systems at Jansen Potash Project in Canada. Focus on operations, compliance, and collaboration with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Technical oversight of tailings and brine systems
- Development and oversight of tailings management operating plan
- Process optimization for tailings deposition, slurry transport, and water balance
- Monitoring and managing process deviations, escalating as needed
- Supporting tailings operational readiness including commissioning and risk management activities
- Collaborate to ensure compliance with BHP standards and regulatory conditions
- Daily interaction with Mill and Tailings operations teams
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Process, Chemical, Geological, Environmental, or related discipline
- Registered or eligible for registration in APEGS as P. Eng or P. Geo
- Operational execution experience with tailings systems, brine management, and slurry handling
- Capital project management experience is recommended
- Comfort operating in a greenfield ramp-up environment
