About the role

  • Audit Innovation Principal building AI solutions for Caseware's audit and accounting software platform. Translating live practitioner workflows into reliable tools with engineering and applied science teams.

Responsibilities

  • Embed with domain experts and partner accounting and audit firms to observe live engagements
  • Identify practitioner challenges and opportunities for automation
  • Define quality and value-creation standards within audit workflows
  • Build and own solutions, including new agents, enhanced capabilities, or platform functionality
  • Partner with engineering and applied science teams to scope requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate throughout solution development and iteration
  • Determine whether AI outputs are suitable for use by practising auditors
  • Contribute field-based insight to evaluation frameworks and audit-context quality standards
  • Monitor emerging AI agent patterns and model capabilities
  • Travel to client or partner-firm teams as required to observe workflows
  • Translate audit workflow pain points into solutions within the AI Pioneer Program

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight years of practice experience in audit, assurance, or accounting
  • Ability to distinguish technically compliant output from output suitable for qualified practitioner sign-off
  • Ability to articulate and defend AI quality standards in an audit context
  • Hands-on history of building an AI- or software-based solution addressing a genuine problem
  • Working technical fluency with large language models and prompt engineering
  • Potentially low-code agent builders or basic scripting
  • Ability to independently build a working solution
  • Ability to distinguish model limitations from process limitations
  • Credibility in both audit and technical settings
  • High personal initiative and bias toward building
  • Willingness to operate in ambiguity
  • Preferred: track record of introducing tooling or automation into a traditional firm or team
