About the role
- Digital Editor curating and producing sports content for CBC/Radio-Canada's digital platforms. Engaging with live competitions and social media while maintaining a dynamic work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Keep up with news stories and breaking information relevant to your assigned sports beat.
- Attend story meetings to pitch fresh ideas and provide editorial input.
- Research, gather, select and vet information from a variety of reliable sources.
- Select topics (reports, interviews, documentaries, etc.) for online publication.
- Adapt, summarize and supplement content as required and determine its layout and sequencing.
- Review and select audio, video and visual elements.
- Draft engaging descriptive, informational and promotional copy tailored to specific platforms.
- Produce original articles: Suggest unique story angles, identify interviewees, and conduct and record interviews for digital publication.
- Update the content of the site or section.
- Help organize, moderate and participate in interactive digital events (live panels, chats and discussion forums).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ relevant experience
- Excellent command of French (working language)
- Intermediate proficiency in spoken, written and reading English
- Strong digital and social media storytelling skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop
