About the role
- Photographer-videographer-editor creating photo and video content for OverActive Media’s North American esports teams. Covering events, producing social content and editing campaigns across digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, plan, produce and deliver original photo and video content for OverActive Media's North American teams and brands
- Develop creative concepts and short production briefs for review and approval
- Participate in creative ideation sessions and contribute storytelling ideas to the broader Content Team
- Capture photography and video at team activities, practices, matches, tournaments, events, player appearances, lifestyle shoots and activations
- Plan and execute photo and video shoots independently and with internal teams, talent and external partners
- Operate professional cameras, lenses, audio equipment and lighting equipment
- Manage production logistics, including equipment preparation, locations, talent coordination and shot lists
- Conduct player, talent and stakeholder interviews and manage talent during shoots
- Write short scripts, treatments and creative concepts and direct short-form video content when required
- Select, organize, colour-correct, retouch and prepare photographic assets for publication
- Edit video content using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Create short-form social content from live-event, lifestyle, original and archival footage
- Prepare content for different social and digital platform formats, aspect ratios, resolutions and specifications
- Maintain visual and technical standards across content
- Organize and manage footage, photography and digital assets
- Collaborate with Content, Marketing, Social, Partnerships, Graphic Design and Creative teams
- Develop sponsor-related content and ensure contractual brand requirements are met
- Collaborate with creative and video teams in Spain and support Movistar KOI and other European initiatives
- Provide photography and video coverage at matches, tournaments, competitions, fan events and sponsor activations
- Work occasional evenings and weekends and travel within Toronto, North America and internationally as required
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in photography, videography, content creation, production, editing or a related field
- Demonstrated experience creating both photographic and video content for digital and social platforms
- 3+ years of experience with video editing and Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro; experience with After Effects is an asset
- Experience working in a professional production, media, sports, entertainment, gaming or esports environment is an asset
- Post-secondary education in film, media production, photography, digital media, communications, marketing or a related discipline is considered an asset
- A strong portfolio demonstrating photography, videography and editing capabilities is required
- Strong working knowledge of professional cameras and lenses, particularly Canon equipment or comparable systems
- Strong understanding of cinematography, framing, composition, camera movement and visual storytelling
- Ability to properly light and record high-quality audio on location and in studio
- Strong photography skills, including portrait, lifestyle, action and event photography
- Strong video editing and post-production skills
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Familiarity with social media content formats, specifications and publishing requirements
- Understanding of current digital content trends and best practices across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X
- Ability to work with archival and found footage and integrate it effectively into new content
- Toronto-based and legally eligible to work in Canada
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally when required
- Comfortable working a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and travel based on the esports calendar
- Highly organized with strong time-management and project-management skills
- Able to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on problem solver with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek direction or approval
- Open to feedback and able to incorporate constructive criticism quickly
- Creative, curious and motivated to experiment with new formats, platforms and storytelling approaches

- Professional, reliable and adaptable in live-event and production environments
- Knowledge of esports and gaming is a significant asset, particularly Call of Duty and the Call of Duty League
