About the role
- Software Developer co-op building Clio’s AI-powered legal SaaS products. Developing features and resolving customer-impacting issues with Ruby, Rails, React Native, MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality software code as part of the Clio product suite
- Contribute to technical scoping and planning for upcoming development work
- Communicate project progress and proactively address impediments
- Collaborate with colleagues across the broader development organization
- Participate in code reviews by submitting work for feedback and reviewing others' contributions
- Implement new features and deliver software solutions for customer-impacting issues
- Participate in team-level and company-wide initiatives and strategic engineering discussions
- Coordinate product support through a rotational assignment
- Pursue continuous professional development and exchange feedback
Requirements
- Available for an 8-month co-op period from January 2027 to end of August 2027
- Completed second-year coursework and currently a 3rd or 4th year Computer Science/Engineering student
- Excellent computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, and SQL
- Rational and critical thinker who seeks solutions to problems
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Keen interest in improving software development craft using AI
