About the role

  • Independent financial advisor building insurance and wealth portfolios for Canadians with Co-operators. Growing a client base through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Build long-term relationships with community members and help them achieve financial security
  • Leverage a network, entrepreneurial drive, and consultative approach to grow a client portfolio
  • Provide tailored insurance and wealth solutions aligned with clients' goals
  • Establish a profitable, sustainable financial services portfolio
  • Prospect proactively through networking, referrals, and community engagement
  • Deliver personalized, advice-based insurance and wealth solutions
  • Represent Co-operators professionally as an independent representative
  • Strengthen Co-operators' reputation and community presence
  • Operate an independent advisory practice and distribute Co-operators products under the brand
  • Continuously develop expertise in insurance, wealth solutions, and market trends
  • Manage time, priorities, and sales pipeline independently
  • Complete comprehensive background, credit, and eligibility checks

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Insurance of person license in Quebec or be willing to obtain it
  • Meet ongoing licensing and continuing education requirements
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or advice-based sales environments is relevant
  • Experience running your own business is relevant
  • Background in wealth management, B2B sales, account management, or business development is relevant
  • Experience in client-facing advisory or relationship-management roles is relevant
  • Proficiency in French and English, spoken and written
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English is required for frequent complex written and oral communication
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and convert them into sustainable business growth
  • Strong sales and business-development mindset
  • Comfort with prospecting, networking, and creating opportunities
  • Clear, confident communication and strong organization
  • Disciplined follow-through
  • Client-first, advice-based approach
  • Resilience, accountability, and self-motivation
  • Ability to operate independently while upholding Co-operators' values and brand standards
  • Comprehensive background check required
  • Background, credit, and eligibility checks must be completed to Co-operators' satisfaction
