About the role

  • Independent advisor building a Co-operators financial services practice across Canada. Growing client portfolios through tailored insurance and wealth solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build an independent financial services advisory business under the Co-operators brand
  • Build long-term relationships with community members and help clients and families achieve financial security
  • Grow a client portfolio through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community engagement
  • Deliver tailored insurance and wealth solutions aligned with clients' goals
  • Establish trust through consistent engagement and advice-based relationships
  • Act as a visible and professional independent representative of Co-operators
  • Strengthen Co-operators' reputation and presence in served communities
  • Manage business activity, priorities, time, and sales pipeline independently
  • Continuously develop expertise in insurance, wealth solutions, and market trends
  • Distribute Co-operators products exclusively under the independent contractor agreement

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Life Insurance License (LLQP or equivalent) and/or Mutual Funds License (e.g., IFC, CIFC), or be willing to obtain them
  • Meet ongoing licensing and continuing education requirements
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or other advice-based sales environments
  • Experience running your own business
  • Background in wealth management, B2B sales, account management, or business development
  • Experience in client-facing advisory or relationship-management roles
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and convert them into sustainable business growth
  • Strong sales and business-development mindset
  • Comfort with prospecting, networking, and creating opportunity
  • Clear, confident communication
  • Strong organization and disciplined follow-through
  • Client-first, advice-based approach
  • Resilience, accountability, and self-motivation
  • Required to complete a comprehensive background check
  • Complete background, credit, and eligibility checks to Co-operators' satisfaction
