About the role
- Senior Environmental Coordinator overseeing permits, monitoring, reporting, and reclamation at Coeur Mining’s British Columbia mine. Camp-based role on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation.
Responsibilities
- Participate in enforcing compliance with current permits
- Ensure environmental data is collected and reported in a timely fashion
- Develop environmental reports
- Review technical documents
- Establish monitoring schedules and procedures to meet permit requirements and company standards
- Advise on environmental programs and practices to ensure compliance with environmental laws and permits
- Provide training for environmental monitoring technicians and contractors
- Compile and review data to identify trends and maintain site compliance
- Participate in proactive environmental projects supporting reclamation and environmental management of the mine site
- Promote a safety culture through participation in daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings
- Perform ongoing inspections and risk assessments to identify and address unsafe conditions or workplace hazards
- Ensure employee performance and activities follow safe processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hydrology, environmental science, civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related equivalent
- Ten (10) years of progressive experience in Environmental roles
- Mining, Oil and Gas, or Heavy Industrial experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships
- Strong sense of integrity and ethics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce
- Willingness to work a two-week rotation schedule with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp
